I am thinking of getting rid of my cell phone altogether. I hate being tracked down all day everyday. Lately, I haven't even used it much. BUT I do know it is good to have one in case of emergencies and things of that nature. I am just so TIRED of it!

YADED; 2/21/09

rest in peace ...

basically;

Yesterday was the best day I have had in a long time. It was not a big deal or anything, simple but meaningful.

-woke up without a hangover =]
-church with my family
-gym
-dinner with my family
-way ways house for fun activities, such as learning to play SKATE. on Xbox & watching American Hustle.

Today, I thought it was going to be COLD. Sooooo, I wore leggings, boots, & a fkn cashmere sweater. I was sweating like I was in Vegas. Not to mention I was running around campus like a chicken with its head cut off trying to deal with my financial aid.

The last few weeks I have been going through so much, and church made life seem so peaceful & simple. I'm blessed to even be alive, healthy, and have great family and friends. Instead of focusing on the negative I am going to embrace the positive. And, instead of avoiding the mountains I face, I am going to speak to them. Your thoughts and words are seeds. They plant the fruit you eat. Remember that!

Ohh, and randomness! I JUST got done painting my nails... I feel like a new woman! Whooo hoooo. I'm ready to take on the world now ! Ok, now I am going to BED. Class tomorrow at 8am. Have a goodnight all.

Ray // <333

PS ! I am going to make it a GOAL to go to church faithfully EVERY Sunday. =]]

broken monuments

i speak not of the absence of my mind/for it is lost in the absyss of you/i can only dream of the escapades that took place/deep in the land of we/adventures that i can not recall/because pleasure that powerful can make one forgetful/forced to erase images to save me from myself/from yearning for and missing what was/intimate moments that once was us/ once upon a time/where you and i became a we/where i lost my foundation / but built a monument of you/but then your monument began to fall/ so i had to re-build and re-construct/ until you fell for the last time and i learned solid things should never crumble/ in the midst of loss i lost myself/now all im left with is the story of us/trying to put the pieces back together/along with my mind and my shattered memory/and yet the only clear image i have left is of you

is it dreaming if your wide awake?

i know your heart is aching
searching for love in all the wrong places
baby im yours for the taking
you have been sleeping too long
let me give you your dreams as your waking
if you reach for your dreams
you will find my hand in yours
make sure you love me for today
because tomorrows never sure
lets have a never ending night
starting with a kiss that turns into a fight
only cause for a fight is so we can turn around and make up
this is the kind of dream where we never have to wake up

CTVA student dies after playing at open gym

A junior cinema and television arts major died Tuesday night collapsing after playing basketball at the Matadome during open gym. Diron Rivers Jr., 20, was pronounced dead on arrival at 11:12 p.m. at Northridge Hospital.

“I know he sat down and then passed out,” said Mischa Cavaye, an eyewitness who was playing basketball at the Matadome. “The paramedics performed CPR for at least 10 minutes…it looked pretty hopeless.”

The Los Angeles County Coroners Office hasn’t assigned an investigator to the case and can’t confirm the cause of death.

In order to play basketball at open gym players must sign a liability form, said Charlotte Cabeza an Associated Students Recreational staff member.

“We don’t know exactly why but the doctors say that his heart just stopped,” said Mercedes Burke, 32, Rivers’ aunt. “He slumped over and then passed out.”

Burke said he was diagnosed with a heart murmur at 16, but added that doctors told his mom it wouldn’t contribute to his death.

“Basketball and movies were his life,” Burke said. “He was also very good at imitating people especially our family and he loved to make fun of people he always kept us laughing.”

Demia Jones, 25, Rivers’ aunt, also described him as the family “joker” and agreed that basketball played an important role in his life.

“Basketball was his life, he lived, ate and dreamt basketball,” Jones said. “His favorite movies were Billy Madison and Kill Bill.”

“When he wasn’t in basketball shorts you could say he was a preppy dresser.”

Rivers lived on campus his first two years, but commuted to his Inglewood home at the beginning of his junior year.

He is survived by two brothers, three and 18 years old, and his parents Shantrece and Diron Rivers.

The family is accepting donations for the funeral. For further information contact (323) 899-4704.

liberty

your soul is melodic and free, meaning it could never fully be mine. so we could be a pair, but never two of a kind. picturesque of a picture so perfect. opposite of conservative, we live in one another for a moment. liberal beings. freedom rings when you speak, pursuit of happiness when reaching our peak. somewhat like the manifest, it seems we are destiny. destined to be. you venture through my valleys, i expedite your hidden treasures. when we kiss we tell stories of unforgiving adventures. together. we endure the stormy weather, having only each other to hold on to, seeking body heat. lips frozen shut, but here body language is all we need. you read me, because my words speak only to you. him and i, we no longer can speak with our hearts, because our souls have intimate conversations that take our hearts apart.

question

which do you think it worse:

someone knowing that their actions/words are going to hurt you and they still do it, or someone disregarding your feelings completely and never even stop to think about how their action/words will make you feel?

i haven't yet for reasons of your own

short, but sweet

I have been SO BUSY! Sorry ladies and gents, I will start keeping the posts coming starting later on today. I have Sociology in like twenty minutes though, so this post will be short but sweet. [=D] First, I have a question... or maybe its more like an observation. I have noticed that now that Obama is in presidency, no one who was really all in the "Obama hype" is really keeping up with what is going on with the government and what Obama is doing. Tsk Tsk! Guess all the excitement is over, and now it just seems like a boring topic now huh, but maybe I'll get into THAT a little later when I squeeze in some more time. Off to class, have a swell day all.

The absences of Brown and Rihanna put a huge hole in the Grammy telecast. Rihanna was supposed to sing "Live Your Life/Disturbia" as the second performance of the night, Brown was later to sing "Forever." Each was nominated in the pop collaboration with vocals category, Brown for "No Air" with "American Idol" champion Jordin Sparks; and Rihanna for "If I Never See Your Face Again" with Maroon 5.

Brown was also nominated for male R&B vocal performance for "Take You Down."

Neither won a Grammy on Sunday, and the Recording Academy found able replacements for their performance slots in Justin Timberlake, Al Green, Boyz II Men and Keith Urban as they all sang Green's classic hit, "Let's Stay Together." No mention was made on the broadcast about the switch.

About 90 minutes before the show began, Los Angeles police released a report saying Brown and a woman were in a vehicle in the ritzy neighborhood of Hancock Park when they began to argue around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. Brown stopped the car and both got out, whereupon the argument escalated, the report said.

The woman, who had visible injuries when police arrived, identified Brown as her attacker, but he had left the scene, the report said. Los Angeles police officer Karen Smith says Brown walked into a station around 7 p.m. and was being interviewed by detectives.

He posted bail before 9 p.m. and was released. A black SUV was seen leaving the jail facility, but it wasn't immediately clear whether Brown was inside.

transparent

I've made it clear what I want, its apparent. I tried to conceal what I feel, but my heart seems to be transparent. My hearts full, so I guess I can share a bit. Take my hand in yours, even though your scared of it. Its useless running from what you can't escape, this is something like meant to be, something like fate.

So, I stayed in last night due to the rainy weather; just the girls and I. Watched The Secret Life of Bees and My Best Friends Girl. Feels good to just chill and relax sometimes, instead of going out. Maybe I'll start to keep a low pro for a while?

James is reportedly heard blasting Beyonce Knowles for singing a version of her song "At Last" for President Barack Obama after his Inauguration last month, reports TMZ.com.

Knowles, who portrays James in new movie Cadillac Records, belted out the blues icon's most famous tune as Obama and his wife, Michelle, shared their first dance at the Neighborhood Ball in Washington, D.C.

In the audio -- reportedly recorded at an Etta James concert in Seattle, Washington on Jan. 28 -- a woman said to be the 60s legend is heard mocking Obama's looks and slamming Beyonce's performance.

The woman apparently tells the audience, "You guys know your President right? You know the one with the big ears. Yeah, wait a minute, he ain't my President, he might be yours."

The voice in the audio goes on to say, "I tell you that woman he had singing for him, singing my song, she gonna get her ass whipped. The great Beyonce! I can't stand Beyonce! She had no business up there singing... Singing my song that I've been singing forever."

Last month, James' son Donto told the New York Daily News his mother had watched the performance live on TV at home in California, and was delighted her love song had become a part of history.

He said, "She was looking forward to seeing it. She was honored (and) she thought it was great. She's gotten emotional, just like everybody else."
